Testing of Porsche's new 919 Hybrid LMP1 car has entered its second phase this past weekend in Abu Dhabi at the Yas Marina Circuit.  This test comes nearly a month after the car's initial testing at Porsche's Weissach testing grounds in mid-December.

This year's 919 Hybrid will be an evolution of the 2014 car, which saw podium finishes in five of the eight rounds of WEC and an overall victory in Sao Paulo on its way to 3rd place finish in the overall points standings.  The car's two-liter V4 turbocharged powerplant and hybrid system will also be largely unchanged from the upcoming season.

As the year progresses, Porsche will be conducting additional tests which have been limited to just ten closed track days by the sanctioning body.  World Endurance Championship competition begins on April 12th at the Six Hours of Silverstone.
