Post Dyno woes

I have a timing problem that I had previously related to chip programming. 2 new chips and 2 dynos later, I'm left to assume something in my valve train in untimed. I had the timing chains replaced about a year ago and ever since have been having this power problem. I refuse to take my car back to that shop or any shop for that matter, I'll be doing everything myself this time.
My question is... if it is indeed just a tooth of camshaft variation, do I need to drop the tranny to take the upper chain off the intermediate shaft just to rotate a cam?
This is purely speculation, but I am fairly sure this is the case. Here is my dyno, if you have anything to add or prior experiences/knowledge, it would be greatly appreciated.
Here is my pathetic VR6 dyno, torque peaks at 4200 and hp at 4900

BTW it's a 92 VR6 Corrado Dist.

negative, valve cover and uppertiming cover off and your good to go.

yeah what he^ said. Just did the same thing for a friend after he had a guy with no VR6 experience set the timing and one of the cams was off. You just have to set the engine to TDC and put in the cam alignment tool. Once the cams are set just reinstall the cam sprockets and chain making sure to pull the slack from the front side of the chain(closest to the rad.) and onto the front cam and then the rear cam.
Re: Post Dyno woes (fordhack)

How do you just reinstall the cam sprockets? Do you mean remove the sprocket from the camshaft? Or remove the chain, and get some slack to rotate the cam?

wow thats bad, i thought mine wasn't to good http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2183832

You have to remove at least one of the sprockets from a camshaft to remove the upper chain and reset the cam timing. I would remove the rear one and take the chain loose. Then set the alignment tool in the end of the cams and after that and TDC on the crank is set reinstall the sprocket and chain. Here is a good DIY for pic reference

Looks like the valve train is OK, cams are aligned perfectly. I'll be doing a compression check soon to plan my next step.
