yeah what he^ said. Just did the same thing for a friend after he had a guy with no VR6 experience set the timing and one of the cams was off. You just have to set the engine to TDC and put in the cam alignment tool. Once the cams are set just reinstall the cam sprockets and chain making sure to pull the slack from the front side of the chain(closest to the rad.) and onto the front cam and then the rear cam.

You have to remove at least one of the sprockets from a camshaft to remove the upper chain and reset the cam timing. I would remove the rear one and take the chain loose. Then set the alignment tool in the end of the cams and after that and TDC on the crank is set reinstall the sprocket and chain. Here is a good DIY for pic reference
