Post pics of your amp / sub setups!

I'm thinking about getting a sub or two to give my ride a little more bump. What kinds of amps and subs do you guys have, and if anybody has a custom box, PLEASE post it--I want to do mine in the floor where the spare goes. Hope I don't get stuck on the highway...

JL subs, in conjuction with there amps are about the best you can get, although everyone has their own opinion but alot of competitor use JL.

I won't start a debate about which brand is better. MGWolfJetta is right. Car audio is a subjective thing. Shop around, listen to what's in your price range, and make a decision based on what YOU think sounds best. Marketing and hype don't change how something sounds.
As for the box, I guess the spare tire area could be used fairly easy. You'd get the most use out the space by making a fiberglass sub enclosure. You'd probably want a little help with it though. It's a pretty daunting process if you've never done it before. MDF would work, but you'd end up wasting a little space. It's a lot easier to handle and should still let you fit a 10-12" sub in there. Are you wanting to locate your amp rack in the spare area as well? That might limit the size of your enclosure (as well as create some cooling issues for the amp). Will form follow function, or the other way around? Do you have a sketch of what you have in mind?

Sorry the plexi has some finger prints on it.

Well he is my set up. jbl 600.1 for the subs, 80.2 for the front. 2 10" subs in the sparetire well.

you guys got some nice systems heres mine not really custom but the box is custom made tuned to the reccomendation for my subwoofer for the best sound, actually I paid 75 for it but its originally 300 but you gotta pay 225 up front for them to make, the guy paid and never came back for it so I made out real well I love my system though even though its nothing big hits pretty harder than any 2 mtx or kenwood 12s

I have 3 10" jl audio in my spare wheel well, but sadly i still haven't figured out how to get the pics up on the site yet. I'll work on it and try to get them up.

Iam running a W6v2 10" JL Sub, and this thing kicks man, its wired to a 600 watt amp, and i lost my hearing a while ago... http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Im thinking if its worth having a custom job done, i might go this route soon, with 3-JLW62's and 3Mini Amps.

redbora1979: any cooling issues with that amp? You have cooling fans ducted to that thing?
du-du: love the tinted plexi. Amp on top of the enclosure and behind the plexi (or am I seeing things)?
sawdust: fiberglass enclosure, right? Did you make it or did you have it made? Have any installation pics?

Not really, budt if it is on for more than an hour and a half constantly it will turn off, but I almost never have had it on for that long constantly.

I just sold those on Ebay, I use to have the same setup in my, uhhh, other car, Probe... Freight train is right.,,loved it, now im going with 8's...lol...

sawdust your system is crazy nice
by the way du du what are you running in your complete system it looks real clean, like it was meant to go there

btw just to clear up all your systems are nice, mine is the only one not custom, plus my sub looks unapealing in those pictures for some reason

well there is nothing wrong with your systems. i am sure every one of us with the very custom systems all started out with a box and amp just like you. and there is still noting wrong with that. for most people its all they need and works and sounds just as good as a custom install.
For me anyway i needed hatch space, so this is what i came up. i did all the work myself so i could afford it too.
