Well, it's about time I post up the new car to replace the Passat. It's a great little beater that gets 650KM to a full tank and is dirt cheap to run

Yup, as of now, I no longer own a VW.. (soon to change I hope).
It's a 99 Corolla CE with AC. Nothing fancy, and I can't even fit comfortably in the drivers seat go figure, but it ain't me who's gonna drive it anyhow.

Re: Praneil's New Car (pladwa)

My VW CL mileage puts the Corolla to shame lol

Nice car, I'm a big fan of the Corollas. I drove a 97 Corolla and never had a problem and runs great to this day. Smooth and good gas mileage...good choice...for now

Re: Praneil's New Car (Big Dac With Fries)

I picked it up for a steel at $6000 cert and e-tested. I just couldn't pass it up. I already took it to chicago and back and it ran flawlessly.

you should get more than 650km. my buddy's Corolla LE gets 800km or so he says, city driving.

Possible, haven't had it for that long but I seriously think 800 is pushing it.

Good score Praneil!!!
Very sensible and economical... unlike my VR which is getting about 400km/tank using premium!!!

Slap a VW sticker on it and come to the meets, would be good to see you there!

What's Vortex turning into - a Corolla enthusiasts' site?

You'll see more and more of them on the road, since the VWs are all in the shop
