Hey guys,
Welcome Klutchhead you are a keen foxer! so I have a few questions now the setup in my car is as goes: 2.5 resonator to a ractive back box (exhaust), Shirck 268 cam installed (like a day ago) and a larger throttlebody (Gti or porsche 944 supposedly) I got told that by autobahn dismatlers in Vancouver B.C. very good shop for used part all you bc or even Canada foxers. Ok so was there ever a SE edition fox made or S pecial E diton because a friend told me that in one of my local auto wreckers theres an se editon? but now with the 268 installed im seeing all my power in the higher revs (with in a limit of what my car can push) say 4000 rpm plus... Can I make the 268 power more recognisable and felt in lower revs and if so by doing what? My car idles at around 1000 rpm still but i had to release pressure on the throttle body idle screw i think?(screw inside of an outlet on the throttle body on the left or right hand upper side depending the way you view the engine) did i really need to make the car idle at arest at 1000 rpm?
What do all of you think i should do for a mod next I was sorta thinking the eurosport downpipe/header would be good but whats the cost and whats your guess for sending in to Vernon B.C. Canada? or i could get an adjustable cam gear or 9mm spark plug wires?
Whats your guys opinion on boge suspensions? whats the possibilities of placing boge on a fox with dendoff springs on(shop my buddie works at) ?
and what do you think i may be at with HP/torque?
Saw a 1991 passat with a 16 DOHC at the local Interior autowreckers! Worth dragging outta it? looks like a solid engine and tranny and stuff but dunno the engines milage and also if its a 2.0l or a 1.8l, what are the possibilities of a swap? total nuisance? or sweet dream? im guessin the first choice! or the same 8v 1.8l that i just put a cam in. And also im not new to the fox ive done lots of repairs and stuff to it so i do know how it works so im just asking questions that maybe others than my self want answered too? so post your answers have a dandy day! thanks
