Put up time

OK, I am getting pissed trying to figure out what oil is based on group IV vs group III base stock. So I through this out to all:
Post to this thread if you have "evidence", as in manufacturer materials that SPELL OUT that they use Group IV base stock. Please, no here-say, "I read it here", etc.. Links to manufacturer web sites would be great.
Begin Rant:
The reason I bring this up is that I was all set to order my Pentosynth but then, at the last minute, I came across some "information" that suggested it is not based on Group IV base stock. Furthermore, the only Pnentosynth 5w-40 listed on their web site is Pentosin HC 5w-40 which says it is a hydrocracked oil.
End Rant:
Chris

Re: Put up time (cmosentine)

2 words: puddle of mud.
You likely already know that you won't find a 100% gpIV oil for a number of technical reasons,
As far as who has the most gpIV vs gpIII for a given specification is imposible to tell and no one will volunteer the info. The only reliable general guide is the specification.
MB 229.5, VW 506 01 are high specifications and will have higher concentrations than a VW502 00 or BMW LL-98.
Good luck in your quest.
AMsoil. AFL, but that brings up a huge can of worms... so let's ignore that.
try Total Quartz INeo MC3 5w30.
MSDS info
Compare that to Total Ineo 504/507, MSDS info, this oil has Group III, severely refined petroleum oil

Yes, agreed. No Amsoil talk.

Castrol Syntec MSDS:
http://129.35.64.91/ussds/amer...).pdf
Definitely says "Highly Refined Base Oil". I think this confirms the antidotal information that Syntec is Group III (mostly).
