I do think so, but that brings up the question of why you think you would need one?

(if Quaife doesnt, there is another that does)

VL Enterprises makes an Option-6 speed for 020 trannies. I know nothing about this company just that they make a 6 speed for older vw trannies. Ask around to see if they are any good. You might also check out Kraftswerk.

Re: (JoshmkII)

well I have 2 vl 6 speeds One is in my yellow car, and If you drive it anywhere over like 5 miles you'd want the 6th gear, to drop the rpms down on the highway, this tranny also has a quaiffe, and is well worth the money, where before my car would just sit there and spin it actually goes forward, while spinning both wheels,
The other vl 6 speed is sitting on my garage floor, waiting to go in to my M1 drag car over the winter, The 6 speeds work very well no problems, but i do believe VL isn't making them anymore,

Re: (vwdohc993)

you can also purchase them from Overland Parts at http://www.overlandparts.com/
as for needing a 6th gear, it can be very helpful....a good friend of mine has one in his rabbit....its a 4.25 ring and pinion, with quaife....the ratios on it are sick....
but as long as the car accepts an O2O tranny, it doesnt matter which one it is, they all fit.

You can buy the actuall Quaife Six Speed Sequential O2O tranny from Autotech, if you can bend over far enough to shell out the $14,895 that they want for it.
Re: (scvw79)

I don't know, but I think it would be pretty cool to have a 6 speed trans because it allows you to have the acceleration of the close ratio box with the top end of the wide ratio box. I would also like to have straight cut gears, can you imagine what that would sound like at 6k?

i believe in Euro Tuner Magazine there was a feature article about a white MkII 2.016v turbo that had the Quaife 6-speed conversion that retailed for about $3500, expensive but cool, i have the magazine lying around somewhere i can let you know what month it is so you can check it out.

That would be Ivo from Renner Motorsport's Scirocco. He has had it up to 350hp, but it's kind of hard to drive, so he turned it down to 300. It is using a Corrado cable shift tranny. Aside from 6 speeds, and a 160mph top speed, the gears are a lot stronger. Why do you need a 160mph top speed? You might if you race.
BTW Quaife does not make an 020 6spd.
A six speed that has true matched ratios is very desirable for any entusuiast. It just allows you to stay in the powerband more effectively. It also allows you to gear taller. For example, my car will gear out at 130 with my 2H tranny, which is about Ivo's top speed in 5th. That 6th gear takes him another 30 mph, and runs a lot less revs at highway speed.
