what cars came with a 7000 redline tach and 100 mph speedo?
instument cluster like this

I ask because my car a '76 rabbit has that and I didn't think rabbits came with those until later

The early German Rabbit's came with those. I think a clock was usually in the second hole but I have seen tach's in there also. Some more basic models only had one hole.

Where did you find that overlay!!!?? My '75 Rabbit has a 100 mph speedo. I also found a 110 mph speedo in a very early '75 Scirocco. Most of the deluxe Rabbits from '75-'77 have the 100 mph unit. They seem to always come with clocks instead of tachs. The tachs are the same as the Roccos. I want that overlay!! Sweet! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I make the overlay. its alluminum, cnc laser cut, fits it perfectly. I put in 3 guages instead of radio(radios in center console). Let me know if you would like one.

That dash was used until '80. Mine only has one hole with no tach or clock. I've seen the dual setup like you are showing with an 85 mph speedo. Perhaps a diesel? My heater controls are different too. The fan control is not a dial, it's a horizontal slider that sits below the temp and vent setting sliders. It must have been different for an AC equipped car.

My '78 has a single hole with dail fan switch. My first was a '79 with dual holes speedo, clock, slider fan control, and a/c. I have never seen an original 70's rabbit with the tach and speedo. The heater controls have no emblems for a/c on the '76 and all the wiring in the car matches '77 and earlier rabbits in my haynes manual(thats amazing they got something right).
