hey, like the topic says, ill be putting my new euro front lip on and i wanted to know what besides trimming the bumper, is needed to make this thing fit. i was reading on the gti-vr6 library that someone cut the inside corner into notches so that it could bend in easier (see figure 1 ignore blue notches..youll have to enter name and password
)...my question is, is this necessary? would it be bad if i did it? im just wondering because im getting as much prepped as i can before i get down there to do the install cause the condo association frowns upon doing any real work to your car in the parking lot for some reason. any help is appreciated as always. thanks
figure 1...

Re: question about euro lip install... (Severance)

It is indeed necesary for you to gouge out the inside of the curve on the lip, if you do not do this the lip will not have the ability to bend to fit your bumper, so go ahead and hack away.

Re: question about euro lip install... (Thorax_Embalmer)

take a 3mm or so drill bit and drill a hole in each of the points(of the red triangles in your picture- If you just cut it out the plastic may crack at the edges of the cuts you made.) Cut along those red lines, take the old one off. Do just like thorax said, as you cut pull the the piece you are cutting away and it will cut 1000x easier- then pop the euro lip on. i just did mine last week, fits perfect. I only drilled two holes and cut out two sections(instead of the threein the pic) but it'll work either way...... NOW GO PUT THAT THING ON!!!!!!
