are the gauges on a b3 passat the same for both manual and automatic transmissions?

i think the auto gauges have a gear selector cutout on the bottom of the speedo. manuals dont.

yep, the auto has a gear selector cutout under the tach, other than that their the same on the GLX models and either can be used.
