G/F owns a GTI, its the 2L cross flow engine... someone asked me if it was a 1.8T.... were 1.8T's in the gti mk3's??? I thought only the 2.0L and the VR6 were in the mk3's... am i wrong???

Tell him it is indeed a 1.8T, then proceed to show him the engine. If he cannot point out that the car has no turbo his car related opinions are now meaningless.

i should have told him it had a V12 swap

and just thrown some extra plugs in the engine compartment

when i had my first vw, a 98 gti, (before i even bothered doing self repairs) i brought it to a jiffy lube (i kno kill me) and the dude there said...
"this isn't a gti...gti's have a turbo, whoever sold you this car just badged it a gti, you got ripped dude...omg i feel bad for you"
ha i stood there and laughed and just nodded my head....
yeah i do feel bad for you
