Question about options on 1999 Audi A4 1.8t Quattro

Was the S4 leather 3spoke steering wheel ever offered as a factory option on an A4 in 1999? We were looking at one at a local dealer with no mods done to it but it had an S4 wheel complete with badge (not glued on). Thanks for any info, we have bad vibes about this car...

I think you are refering to the 3-spoke stering which comes on A4's with the Sports Package. Its has the Audi Sport badge but it doesn't say 'S4' right? Then yeah, it came from the factory that way.

HMM, maybe we were wrong then. I'll post a pic once my website is updated. Thanks for the quick reply.

yup, the 3 spoke sport steering wheel (with the red and silver S-badge) is definitely an option on A4s, even if you didn't get the sport package (i have it on mine).

yup, that's what i have too. sport seats, sport wheel, no sports package....and a sport suspension set-up in my trunk waiting to be installed
i love the sport seats. they look waaaay better than the normal cloth and i honestly think they are more comfortable (and a little more bolstered) than the leatherette.

How much of a drop does the Sport suspention give you? There’s a guy here selling the Sport set-up pretty cheap, but I don’t know how much of a difference it will be from Stock.

i think it's about an inch, give or take a 1/4 inch. my buddy has the same car i do (but a 98) except he has a sports package. when they are parked next to each other, there is quite a noticeable difference. also, a noticeable difference in handling. for me, i figured it was the best bang for the buck option (i bought it used with about 15,000 miles for about 200 bucks) seeing as i didn't plan on tracking it and didn't feel like spending 600 or 700 hundred on a decent cup kit. plus, i've had a really really low car before and didn't feel like a big drop for this one.
