Unfortunately I couldn't get the Bose system with my new 02 A4 1.8T. It was the only option the car didn't have. Anyways does anyone know how to make the stock system more powerful? 150 watts isn't that bad but I miss the 200 watt monsoon system I had in my VW. Then again the GTI was a smaller car so maybe it just sounded louder in that car. I mean is 50 watts that much of a noticable difference? Anyways I know for other systems there is some plug and play stuff available. If anyone has any info I would appreciate it. thanks!

I got min about two weeks now and at first I was thinking the stereo was weak however, I realize that it is quite good for the car. The car is so quiet that if I turn it up past 15 on the volume scale I can barely hear what is going on outside the car.
It perform quite well at low volumes and start to get a bit winded at higher volumes. Look in your stereo manual (or it might be the owners manual), there is some information on the stereo and how it can be wired for external amps. I am pretty sure I saw something about that the other night while going over the books.

I was about to get the Bose for my A3, but then decided to save some money. I've been fairly happy with my Symphony. One thing, though. You should break in your speakers much the same way as your engine. Say for the first 30 or so hours, don't crank the volume all the way up. I've noticed that my sound system got a lot better after a while.

I wouldn't pay extra for the Bose. Audi should come with a deck that plays MP3's recorded on CDRW's stock.
