so....is everyone who owns an R32 happy??? are they very fast??? i read in a magazine that they only go 0-60 in 6.5 seconds....that doesn't sound right. i haven't had the opportunity to race one but if that's the case i'd feel confident with my 1.8T with a manual boost-valve...anyone???

Re: question for R32 owners (adumb)

If all it is about is your 0-60 time, you should get yourself a Z28 as it will blow away your car for a lot less.
All you have to do is check out a couple threads in this forum to see how many people really like thier R32s. They are about the whole package and are far more than just a 0-60 time.
And btw, the magazines really testing them are getting sub 6 second 60mph times and low 14 second 1/4s stock. A little faster than a 1.8t even with a chip.

Re: question for R32 owners (glxdriver)

i'm not all about the 0-60 times...and i would never own a Z28(P.O.S.)....especially with todays gas prices! you do have one thing right...a Z28 can BLOW my car!!! i was just wondering if anyone liked their R32 and they felt like $30,000 was a good investment. i understand they're about the whole package...i love the looks of them and wish my car had 4 motion, 18's, 6 speed, dual exhaust...i was just wondering if the magazine was correct on the 0-60 time.

Check the R32 FAQ at the top of the forum for vital performance statistics.
Yes, we all love our R32s and the car is every bit worth the $30k.
No looking back, no regrets.

Who gives a rats ass about 0-60??
This car is not about that. It's about the total package.
A VW lovers dream car.
btw it's plenty fast enough. Hardly anybody takes me off the line.

Re: question for R32 owners (ljhooley)

I'll put my stock R32 against a modded 1.8T any day for titles - that is how confident I am regarding the cars performance. I raced my friends A2 VR6 Turbo last week and I killed him all the way up to about 98mph (where he blew by me
).

Re: question for R32 owners (adumb)

Less than a year after I purchased a 2003 GTI, I traded it in for my R32. No regrets. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

A very poor financial investment but a good "fun" investment.
