I'm wondering if you had the stock GTi VDO oil temp gauge, and hooked it up to the 16v coolant temp sender, would it give an accurate reading?

eh, not sure about the coolant temp sensor but there should be a place for an oil temp sender on the filter housing. I know you need a different gauge and sender for the oil pressure one. Plug it up and see if it works. I'm not sure that the coolant temp sends the same signal as the oil temp, though.

ok, because the reason I'm asking is I have the three stock VDO gauges in the center console, oil temp, oil pressure, and voltage. I'm realizing that the wire for the oil temp gauge is going to the coolant temp sender on the side of my 16v, not the oil temp sender? I'm going to switch it tommorrow
