Think about enterting the MkII world?

As mentioned the MkIII interior can fit (the dash, etc), but it will take some modifying. As for the 17"s, I say loose them for something smaller. Check the wheel/tire classifieds for something smaller in whatever lug pattern your going to end up with. My personal favorites are 15"s with a generous drop. 16"s look nice too, but only if the right tires/offset are used.
