Re: Quickie (MarcoVW)

What kind of cam are you running?
With aftermarket cams, idle usually improves when you advance cam timing (at the expense of top end performance)

Re: Quickie (der_panzer)

Hi!!
I'm using a OEM cam (027 109 101 7) favored by most tuners here in Brazil for hydraulic lifters. It comes from a sports 2.0l engine and its supposed to have around 264º duration.
I guess I'll try a pulley then...

Re: Quickie (MarcoVW)

Can you directly tie the cam to your idle issues? i.e. did it start idling poorly when you installed the cam?
It sounds like it's a pretty mild cam. I'd suggest checking your basic timing and maybe adjusting your idle before spending $$ on an adjustable gear.

Yeah it started when the new cam was installed. I thought it wouldnt either since its a mild OEM cam, but I guess digifant cars aren't really fond of cams other than their own. I hate not having a simple A/F and/or idle screw!!! I'll check ignition timing beforehand, then. Thanks for the advice!
