Today my dad and I went to meet up with wihaR32TT to take him on a little test drive, you know, so he could get a feeling for the car. Anyway, what was a somewhat civilized drive around our town's back roads turned into a hunt for a Bentley Continental GT. We saw it ahead of us and knew we had to catch it. Once we were on it's tail, the driver noticed us and tried to get away, but we wouldn't let him. Flying around corners and pulling serious G's, we kept up with him nicely (our SHS kit helped too, thanks HPA
). Finally when we reached a stoplight, he poked his head out the window and asked us, "nice car, huh?" As it turns out, he was test driving it for his father and deciding between that or a Maserati Quatroporte. We told him that if he had that kind of cash, he should get and R32 and ship it off to HPA. Anyway, just thought I had to tell the story.

Re: R32 vs. Continental GT ([email protected])

Just looked up the stats on it, dayyuuum. 6 liter Twin Turbo W12
552 bhp. Only thing is the weight, 5071 pounds
. Thats a heavy car. Also, something I found interesting... the torque (which was 479 ft lbs) was at its peak at only 1600 rpms!
Edit: It also has 4wd

doesnt the phaeton weigh 7000 lbs? this 19 yr. old salesman at antwerpen says it can run a 13.9 in the 1/4.

I couldn't believe that a Phaeton is 7000 lbs. Too lazy to look up the actual weight, but 7000 lbs? No way.

No, I don't have the TT. We were just following him through a twisty road and keeping up with him. Once we got on the straightaways, he would start getting away though.

And a nasty little side affect of this? It's the first Bentley ever to understeer. http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif Way to disrespect heritage, VW
