My windows are a ----- to roll up, and my driver side window doesn't roll up straight, it falls back (towards the rear of the car) so i halfto hold it while rolling it up to get it to shut correctly. I pulled the door panel off my driver side but my bently manual is no help and i dont have the slightest on how to fix this..

Re: Rabbit Window Cranks (weaselwhy7)

the top window molding strip is more than likely torn at the bottom edge. this doesnt keep the window seated properly. pull out the bottom 6" or so and look to see it its split

Re: Rabbit Window Cranks (Legacy)

...well, if the window is tilting back and rubbing against that strip, it may. have you tried engulfing the crank assembly in wd-40 to try and get it to move a little easier ?

I replaced all the window seals and put in a new window regulator on the driver's side and it rolls up nice and smooth. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif Only problem is I keep wondering how long it will last... Still have to do the passenger side tho.

Re: Rabbit Window Cranks (JastorVW)

You guys have it all wrong take off the door card and plastic, stick your hand up to the upper left where the window would rub on. A flashlight might help. You will notice a piece of felt there (its tiny) It will have a large groove in it. Take this off and roate it 90 degrees then reapply with some sort of adhesive. your window should roll up nice and smooth now and be flush. Too bad I can get my mirrors knobs off to do this on my current rabbit!!!!
