The o2 sensor wont affect idling, it will affect your gas mileage and performance. With the o2 sensor off, more gas is used as it is not monitoring the exhaust mixture, so more gas is used(ideally, increasing performance). As for idling, check your vacuum lines for leaks. With a line leak, at idle it should idle 'up and down'. Sorry if this sounds messed, but its to the best of my ability. If i am wrong, maybe another vortexer can help. Some of these guys baffle me at times - "How the fack do they know this ****e?"
