I don't know about the race headers but I had a dual outlet manifold on my car stock. I ditched it in favor of a Brospeed/Bosal header. This is on my 91 GTI 8v. I don't have a hp figure but lets just say that it was more than worth the pain in the ass install and all of a busted up knuckles. I got quite a jump in hp. I'm figuring 10-15 hp most likely closer to 10 hp.

Well I don't know about that. My header has farily long runners and while I lost a bit of bottom end it is really not noticeable. I think the gain in upper end more than makes up for the minimal loss in low end. I mean I have great power in the 3500-5200 rpm range now. I do have other mods but you won't loss much lower end. I say go for it.
