I am finding this problem very annoying - my carpet under the floor mat (passenger side, front and back) is soaking wet. As a result, all my windows are foggy and there is a great degree of mildew smell throughout the car. Any ideas where is the water coming from?

Re: raining in my B3 (CarlosFL)

When I bought my car, this happened the first three days. Since I live in the PNW, that's a problem. It turned out to be that the column between the front and rear doors had sprung a leak. They had to take out the front seat, remove the interior trim at the top of the post and reseal inside. They told me that it was a common problem. The dealership I bought it from did it for "free"...

So true. My car was wet in the same spots as yours, and it turned out to be a very small leak on the lower half of my wind sheild on the DRIVER side!
If your carpet is soaked through in the front, then i'd strongly advise that once you find and fix the leak, that you to tear our your carpet and let everything dry. You'll be amazed to see how thick of foam is underneath the front carpet. Mine was holding probably 30lbs of water and took a few days to dry outside

Re: raining in my B3 (N'Syncro)

I had a similiar problem...turns out that the floor pan section behind the passenger seat had cracked and rusted?!!! Body shop figured the undercoating got scratched or something and that the rust ate through the floorpan. The crack was about six inches long. Got it welded and reundercoated for under $150 USD.
