Mexico (28 May 2009) .- Volkswagen will recall 25 to 594 thousand units of the fifth generation of Jetta models 2006 to 2009 model is sold in Mexico as Bora.
The affected units were sold in the United States and have 2 liters engine turbo four cylinder.
The recall campaign is caused by screws in the cover of the arrows are driven, who did not receive the adjustment that marked the engineering specifications of VW.
These screws could loosen, causing problems ranging from a simple but annoying to knock off the arrow.
According to the NHTSA, if the arrow were to be off the car in motion, the housing of the transmission may be damaged.
This might suggest that oil was spilled on the pavement, creating the risk of collision for the driver of the car and for other motorists.
To remedy the fault, the owners must keep their units at the workshop preferred Volkswagen dealer, the shop will inspect the bolts at no cost to the owner and if necessary replace them.
The recall will take place from June 19 or before, the number of VW for the campaign is 40J2/S4.
"In Mexico the potential number of cars involved is very small, especially with cars GLI 2.0 Turbo engine and DSG transmission," explained a spokesman for VW of Mexico.
"The few cases that have been presented in isolation and were cared for and repaired under warranty," he adds.
"If any owner of such a model has an interest, your order may be reviewed at no cost to our dealer network," concluded.
