REAR EMBLEM (HOW TO...)

I HAD THE BIG OLD VW SIGN ON THE TRUNK OF MY GTI. I KNOW I CAN'T TAKE IT OFF CUZ OF THE BIG INDENTION BUT I THOUGHT I WOULD PAINT IT BLACK. ANYONE KNOW HOW TO DO THIS???

First, hit your caps lock key.
Second, you can remove it using dental floss Just get the dental floss behaind the emblem and work it back and forth. The badge is held on with adhesive tape. To remove the emblem from the backing you will have to drill out the rivits. Or, you could save yourself some time and go here http://www.parts4vws.com/catalog/product_detail.asp?PartNumber=1J6853630A041 and get it.

Get some adhesive remover from walmart or auto store.... then just slowly pry off with dental floss or kite string... and since you got adhesive remover now, you can also get rid of any gum stuck in your carpet.

my daughter dropped one and it stuck ugly. that remover stuff just disolved the gum and its just like it was before....it was eery watching it... :0

They don't make one for the jetta. You might be able to use the the black facing piece as shown above but you would have to re-use your existing backing that has the locking mechanism hole in it.

Good idea I will look into this because so many wants a BLACK VW for thr Jetta
