I removed the license plate tub to address some rust that has been growing on the trunk lid.
For the first time, ever, I noticed there is a plug and wires attached to where the driver side foglight would be.
Does anybody know if this wiring runs all the way to the front? If so, would the wires up there be the same color as the wires that plug into the light socket? And does this mean I do not need the $35 Potterman wiring kit, but just a Euro switch?

Re: Rear Foglight, 1995 (Mex) factory wiring in place? (Evilbeetle)

Good question - I discovered the same plug when I installed a euro plate tub recently. I also have a euro switch. So I too have the same question.

Put a bulb in and pull your euro rear fog. Does it come on?? If yes you have all the wiring, if no, you don't. I paid under $5 dollars, wire it yourself no need to buy a kit. IM for a how to if you need help. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

More than likely it is not wired up. Although...it might be already connected to your brakes. Pop a bulb in there and hit the brakes. Mine were wired up this way. I had to run a line back there for the rear fog though...with a diode in there too.
Here's a long winded thread on it all between GlennJ and I. http://www.vwenthusiast.com/fo...=2738

[edit]Don't bother with the rear fog kit...you can do it MUCH cheaper with some wire, soldering iron, a couple of diodes and two connectors from the dealer.
