i was at the stealership the other day attempting to browse the lot to see what new features were on this years jetta. one of the GLX jettas had a factory installed rear sunshade, just like the ones in the passat. i asked some highschool graduate with a low iq when it would be available, he said he wasnt sure, so i went to talk with the manager. the manager said that it would be available as an accessory mid march, couldnt qoute me a price. has anyone heard anything, or know where i can get one?

Is this the one that rolls up and attaches to hooks on both sides of the pillar? If so, I inquired about this about 2 months ago and I think the Stealership quoted me $400

I'm hoping he looked up the wrong part#, but I'm up for it if it's less than $100.

I have 02 glx. The sun shade came standard in mine

well i remember seeing the rear sunsade for the Passat in the driver magazine, it was 125$ i would swing that, but 400. tell the dealership to kiss your a$$i just really want one, and im willing to wait for it. if its the same price as the passat.

The parts guy told me in the beginning before he even looked up the price that it was going to be expensive. He said it's because the pillars are included with the shade. The shade is attached to the rear pillars and it looks clean. I really want one, but if he is telling me the truth, I'll go with 35% tint all around.

I was quoted $800 for the setup
$350 for the sunshade itself
$350 for the rear deck it attaches to
$50 for each pillar
= way too much $$$

I believe the rear sun shade has been standard on all Jetta GLX's since '99. I was in the market in '99 between a Jetta GLX vs. a Passat GLX. I eventually chose the Passat but remember the Jetta GLX having the sun shade as well.
