Im trying to fix my rear sway bar. The previous owner said the bolts for the sway bar that go on the end of the sway bar links got stripped, so I went and bought new bolts by looking at the old ones he gave me. The sway bar until not has just been tied up to the bottom of the shock mounts. The thing is, I dont know what Im supposed to bolt the top of the sway bar link to. Do I take the bottom shock bolt out and run my new bolt through the sway bar link? Is there something else missing right now that Im supposed to bolt it to? Thank you.

Re: rear sway bar problems (Malintent)

It depend on the sway mfgr. On the autotech, the bolt that holds the shock to the mount is a longer than the original VW bolt. You pass the bolt through the endlink eyelet then shock/mount and nut.

Re: rear sway bar problems (marcogyver)

Same idea for the Neuspeed. Longer bolt goes through the link then on through the shock and trailing arm.
Aloha.
