Where's the best place to get performacne mods done to your car in Toronto or the GTA area? Is it true that Cedarbrae is the best of the dealers?

I don't know about cedarbrae but vwvilla has a performance dept that does mods... There are many non-dealer shops in town, check out the links at http://www.vwot.org and http://clubvaper.com

What mods are you planning to do?

I plan to lower the car 1" to 1.5" with VW/Eibach Pro-Kit springs (not sure whether this requires changing the stock dampers). I want to upgrade the stock tires to Yokohama AVS Sports on the stock 205/55/16 rims, and possibly chip the car to around 200hp (I have 180 stock right now).
I'm leasing the car (over 48 months) so I obviously don' t want to put to much into it. I also don't want to do any mods that will void the factory warranty.
I've talked to Cedarbrae VW and they've assured me that if they install the chip and do the lowering, it won't affect my warranty. But at $85 an hour for labour at the dealer I was wondering if there might be somewhere cheaper.

They have a crappy website, the place looks like a dump but the owner races 1980-90 VW's,that man is one of the most knowledgable vw mechanics in To_Owner is name Jack....take a look..they are on Geary rd(dufferin and dupont)

Yeah, i've driven past the place now that you mention it. The fact that it looks like a total dump kind of scares me. I'd be going totally on your recomendation.

Hawc,if you ask most wheels shops and aftermarket sellers for VW in Toronto if they heard of Eurospeed I bet you they know Jack(owner). His prices are very competitive and he can get almost any aftermarket 'peformance' items, exhaust, struts, chips, sway bar, tower braces, rotors, etc, etc, but nothing comestic though....remember ask for Jack and not his worker(Victor),Jack is the man you will have to talk too, they are very busy and you will definitely need to book a appointment.
