Hi,
My tranny has what has been diagnosed as a bad diff. bearing - it groans like mad and is getting worse. She has 310, 000 km on her and I don't want to invest to much into it. I have rebuilt 2 stroke dirt bike sequential trannys and complete engines but am a little timid with my 16V. How hard (special tools, special procedures) is it coming from an intermediate skill level home machanic. <p> Or does anyone have a line on some reputable rebuilt ones - preferably up in Canada.
Thanks again for the help.

Re: Reconditioned or newer used 16V tranny needed for an Canadian (16V-2STROKE)

If you could rebuild that other stuff, there should be no reason for you to not atempt the tranny rebuild. You need a couple of 12pt allen head sockets, feeler gauges, the use of a bearing race puller, and a hydrolic press. It is not that difficult. You should put a diff bolt kit, while you are at it.
