Anyone consider tinting their tailights red but leaving the reverse lights white. I did a little photoshop work to someones corrado, thanks for the pic by the way.. What do you guys think? I'm considering doing this to mine
I painted my tails and left my reverse lights clear (it looks identical to the photoshop job). Keep in mind when you paint your tail lights, your orange-colored lenses must be painted with a purple/pinkish paint and your reverse lights must be painted with red paint. The all-red color match may not be perfect.
I thought if you got a strong enough red it would just cover the orange completely, and then you put a coat on the bottom part of your tailights (so the color matches). Thats what i've heard. I have never heard of the "purple/pinkish" color having to be used.
wtf?!? thats my car!
the top half on mine are slightly tinted. i used testor's model master spray tint and clear coat. do i search, there are a lot of topics on this.
When painting the taillights, is it necessary to take the taillights off the car or can it be done with them on.. If they should come off how is this done... sorry I really need to buy a bentley
not only will it be easier to do them removed, but also safer for your paint...just dont drop the 8mm nut, or you will never find it again...[/QUOTE]
I second that!
had mine like that since waterfest 00. i left my reverse lights clear so i can see backing up. also i didnt use that testors crap. i hear it cracks and runs and drips. i used actual taillight spray. no fading or anything for 2 years now.
