Rad Replacment

Does anyone know if a mk2 1.6D golf rad will fit/work in a mk1 1.7L Gas rabbit?
My buddys got one he can give me and save be buying one.

should be able to work, you might have to delete the overflow jug in your bay - because the 1.6 has a build in overflow.

you will have issues with it due to overflow...

unlike guy above post... a diesel mk2 had a upper hose for the return to the overflow vs a nipple on it.. also the upper hose is to the side in a angle i beleive so upper rad hose will be fun to recreate..

it is lso longer i beleive.. but test fit to make sure..

also keep in mind that the diesel radiators are designed to keep heat in instead of keeping it out, alot of the diesels radiators are made of brass instead of aluminum
