I've seen in a few of the Euro Magazines that GTI 1.8T have a red "T" on the end instead of the silver "T" I think it looks pretty good. I talked to a dealer and they can order the "T" in no problem. Should I do it, or do you think it will look silly? Also, how do I get the current "T" off?
(Wedge a spachelor under it and flex? )

Re: Red "T" badge to replace the "T" on the 1.8T (hawc)

You can buy it from Komet in the classifieds for 17 $. To take letters off, just saw them off with dental floss or a fishing wire on a hot day or use a hair dryer to heat it up.

Re: Red "T" badge to replace the "T" on the 1.8T (hawc)

I think the red 'T' is especially appropriate on modded 1.8T. It adds a level of distinction. Sort of like the Dinan badge that a BMW owner can earn based on the number of modification points that are awarded for Dinan mods added to the car. Too bad Volkswagen doesn't embrace the mod community by partnering up with a well known Tuner.

Actually now that you mention it, I think I would feel like a bit of a poser putting a red T on a bone stock GTI (no disrespect to those who have) but I think I should wait 'till I chip it in the spring.

Yup. Dental floss to remove old badge. Sprayed WD40 on remaining glue and worked off with my finger (works better than Goo Gone or whatever its called). Cleaned the area and polished/waxed it. Put on new badge.

I just posted this same idea, ha. I think it looks great. I'll be getting the red T and the 20V with the V in red to replace GOLF soon. Dental floss and a hairdryer is all you need.
Cheers
