Guys,
I forgot, since I last used it in my '95 GTI VR6, which Redline Tranny Fluid do I use for my '01 GTI GLX? MT-90 or MTL?
Thanks,
Dave

Either will work but MT-90 is a bit more hvy duty.

i got 2nd gear grind when i shifted fast with that stuff. it worked great in my GSR, but sucked in the GTI. i was told to go with the synthetic VW fluid and it's been a year with ZERO grinds.

Really? Did you pick it up from the dealer? How much was it.

I had the grinding in my transmission and no fluid did the job. It was a mechanical issue. I tried the MT90, Mobil1, VW synth oil - nuthin. It was the 1st - 2nd grind.
You would use MT90, but the factory fill should be synth.
Can I get some free vet advice?
My wife's cat is 14-15 years old (flame point Himalayan). He recently stop eating crunchy food and just like wet food. He's just about all bones now and walks very slow (maybe arthritis?). Should we give him some vitamin drops?

stuff that cat with glucosamine-chondroitin sulfate(get it @ the health food store.) Old people load up on this stuff to keep movement in their joints. Athletes, and horses get good amounts of it too. MSM(methylsulfynolmethane) may also be good for him too. Good luck with your kitty

Jim & VDubFiend,
VDubFiend,
Thanks for your help as an amateur Vet. I agree that Glucosamine and Chondroitin sulfate is a good, safe arthritis remedy if that is his problem. There is a Vet product called Arth-renu. See if your Vet has it. It contains the above ingredients and my give him some pain relief if that's what he needs. It could also be a problem with bad teeth and/or peridontal disease. Have your Vet check him out in that area. I hope that will help out your wife's other baby.

VW specifies 75W90. I'd stick with a lube that has this designation. AMSOIL has it and I think Mobil 1 does too. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

yeah the dealer carries VW synthetic tranny oil. i'm telling you, it works really well. talk to some tranny guys who have seen these trannies after thousands of miles. that's who recommended it to me.
