Hi all, I want to remove the lower drivers side storage pocket for cleaning. I was wondering how (or if) this dash cubby comes out. Most storage spots usually have a place you can push to release the tray but I can't seem to figure this out. See picture

I wondered why. Almost every other VW or Audi I've ever owned had a bin of some sort over there. Now I know why. I'm assuming you can get these at ECS or somewhere similar.

Almost every other VW or Audi I've ever owned had a bin of some sort over there.

Every recent VW, maybe.

But the early Mk3s in North America didn't even come with a glove box. And the B3/B4 Passats over here never did. That's when VW was still trying to figure out how to fit both a glove box and a passenger air bag into their cars...

The bin is held in place by plastic snap hinges.

Just open the bin and pull the bottom straight out. There are tabs on the top sides that prevent it from opening too far.

Snaps back in the same way.

This link shows the bin removed in a couple of the pictures. You can see the hinge slots in the bottom left and right sides of the opening.

Pull it down with some force and it'll pop out.

Perfect, thank you! That is precisely what I was looking for. Guess I was just afraid to use a little force. Previous owner had some sawdust looking stuff filling all the corners so now I can give it a proper clean.
