Why buy used rotors, if brand new ones are not expensive at all???

*If I interpreted that correctly...

Re: (huskylord)

put the rotors on your car, drive around, and brake a lot. then the rust is gone.

Have NEW PADS HANDY!

I doubt any chemicals can remove rust without touch....
Sand them well...

ive had a car sit for a while and had rusty brakes, drive it and the rust comes right off. but if the rust is deeply pitted then theres nuthing you can do for them. it feels weird at first , just dont expect to stop on a dime the first few times.

Just drive the car - rust comes right off.
Rotors rust.
They are made of steel.
Steel rusts.
Rust is an oxidation process - whereas the rust is exposed to oxygen and moisture and it slowly "burns" away.
2Fe + O2 + 2H2O = 2Fe(OH)2

Grind sand if off, and paint the area of the hat if needed - this will prevent the rust. However - the rust that forms on the brake friction contact area is non avoidable.
