According to a report from L'  Automobile Sportive.com , the Golf R400 will bow as a 2017 model and come with a hefty price tag slotting north of the Audi RS 3's going rate.  Being built around the Mk7 facelift- also due in 2017- the Golf R 400 (or 420 as many outlets are now reporting) should come with a high output 2.0T, capable of 0-60 in less than four seconds.  To cope with this extra power, Volkswagen will need to beef up their existing transmissions, but at this time we're not quite sure if it'll come with a DSG or Manual gearbox.

What we do know, is that we'll gladly welcome the new model in any form, so long as we can get it.  Read more from L' Automobile Sportive (en Français), right here .
