Recently installed upper & lower front and upper & lower rear KCD mounts. I have not done the tranny mount, i have an OEM on hand, but I may go ahead and get a KCD tranny mount as well. My current tranny mounts is OEM and 160K old.
First : Last weekend I started workin on doing the mounts and got side tracked a couple times. So I finished up last weekend doing just the front upper & lower mounts. These probably made the largest difference. Driving and shifting was much smoother. Letting of the gas did not give the sudden jerk/thud I've grown so used to. Little to no vibration was noticed. My girlfriend swears it is actually smoother. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Second : This weekend did the rear upper & lower. As with last weekend's results. Driving is smoother, shifting is crisp. Don't really know how to describe it. The car just feels better, more solid, more fun to drive. Reminds me of my of GTi, sporty feeling, ready to cause some trouble

Asking for my girlfriends opinion, again she says it actually feels smoother, even at idle. I have a bunch of change in the ashtray and it doesn't rattle. My idle dips a bit once and a while from another issue, and even then the vibration seems no worse then before installing the KCDs.
If anyone is looking for mounts, I give the KCDs a big http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif and a
to Todd for being so helpful. The KCDs were cheaper than the Turn2s but I have no idea how the Turn2s compare to KCDs, but I am very happy with my choice. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: Review: KCD Motor Mounts (SLC_Demon)

yep, i got the full set-up in my 99 VR6 with a vortech blower and i love them. they are the shizzle. i mean i only really even get any vibration when its cold or if its the first time i start my car. but you have to expect that when you go with a solid mount.

So the KCDs you got are just inserts also?
Thanks for the review

so in terms of stiffness, you'd say they're not as harsh as the turn2's? people with the same mounts as you, but turn2 report noticible vibration. sounds like kcd is the way to go!

Re: Review: KCD Motor Mounts (Pfeil)

I have had no experience with Turn2 mounts, so I'm not going to attempt to draw a comparision. You can feel the motor more as you drive, but I dont feel its a negative quality. I think it feels great http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif As far as vibration, in my case I dont think there was much difference, but there is a little.
The mounts that I removed had almost 160K on them, so they were not in great shape to begin with.

Re: Review: KCD Motor Mounts (SLC_Demon)

im right there with ya. i had stock mounts in my car when i put the blower in. and my mounts just sucked. so i went with the KCD's and when i got the car back i did notice some more vibration.. but i also nitioced a huge difference in the driveablity of the car. it just hooked up alot better and my motor wasn't bangin around.
. now that its warmer out. i don't even notice the vibration anymore.

Re: Review: KCD Motor Mounts (twodubs)

That's what i was thinking. All the posts that I read about vibration was during the cold months. So have not had to deal with cold yet,
sdriver - they are inserts.
