How is the REVO chip installed on a 1.8T? I looked on their site but couldn't find it. Is it soldered or socketed or otherwise installed? TIA

Re: REVO question (kmveedub)

they load the software onto your ecu via the vag-com port. Your ecu is left totally unmolested. there is no need to even open the ecu case.
Re: REVO question (01 Wolfsburg)

There's no such thing as a REVO "chip". Their product is ECU code that gets flashedf onto your existing ECU (into unused code blocks). You can purchase a "dongle" that allows you to switch between the REVO code and stock ECU code. Some dongles also allow you to change parameters of the REVO code.
I hope this helps to explain how it works. BTW: Many folks think that REVO is undetectable because the ECU is never physically touched. However, if VW wised-up, they'd look into code blocks that should be empty and see REVO code and then know that you've modified the ECU.
