sure, is your friend buying a ticket and flying over to deliever the rims personally? People in the mk3 forum have been importing rims since I've been on the forum and its about $200-300 per set.
Lets put something into perspective here. If it cost $800 to have a set of rims shipped from Germany then you wouldn't be able to buy them here because no one (unless your rich) could afford to pay that amount.
Speak to Steve Prendergast (VAG Parts Bin) or Lostboyscout they can inform vouch for my claim.
