So I started my VW addiction back in 2005 when I picked up a gently used 2003 MK4 GTI VR6. I was pretty in to going to any VW meet in my area back at Travis and met some cool people. It seemed a lot easier there as well to throw up a "VW" sign and get one back. Fast forward to December 2010, and I was on my way to Germany, but like an idiot I sold my beloved VR6 before leaving. Waiting to purchase a MK7 GTI I filled that gap with a eurospec 93' MK3 GTI VR6 in the spring of 2014. Last Friday I picked up my new MK7 PP GTI and couldn't be happier. But since I've been in Germany/cruising on base no one shows any love. Now I know the lack of respect from a MK3 owner to a MK6 owner is a bit hard to judge because most of these guys are first time VW or VAG owners. And when they see some old MK3 GTI dude throw up the "VW" they look at you like you're crazy. LONG story short... Back in Cali I made up some little flyers a couple of us would carry in our cars and either hand out to rando's or leave under their wiper blade. They were pretty simple, with "EURO GTG" at the top, then all VAG Models welcome underneath that. It had the address for VWvortex.com as well as where in there to find our NorCal forum. And lastly, a time, and where we would meet every Friday night, which was Sonic in Vacaville. So I'm gonna try and make some of these soon and hopefully get some to you guys that would like to get this area going with a regular VAG GTG soon. Lemme know your thoughts and any ideas!!!
