I've asked around here what might cause that when acelerating hard and some of you guys told me that it could be a O2 sensor.
My car was at dealer whole day today, and basicly what I was told is, there is nothing wrong with my car and it could be gas that 'am using. Service manager told me not to use gas that advertise 10% of metanol (sp?) since that is what is causing faul smell in my car. He told me that metanol is basicly sulfor and its building in catalic converter (?) which in turn causes bad smell inside of car. I am sorry about bad explanation, does this make any sense or his bs-ing me??

my car does the same thing... if i punch it in 5th gear up a steep hill at about 80mph, i get the same smell. from what i've heard, as your o2 sensor starts to go, it will make your car run rich, which causes the smell in the cats as they start to go.

The smell is caused by excess fuel being dumped into the cat.Yes, certain gas can cause the rotten egg smell. Also the 02 Sensor causing the car to run rich will create the sulphur smell. I can see how excess gas could be dumped into the cat because it was not combusted properly like when you get a bad tank. I watched my moms car spit raw fuel out the exhaust after filling up at a shady mart. My C had the odor using any gas but Texaco, but I have found that replacing the 02 sensor allowed me to use any gas without the smell. If you have 65K plus its time to replace it anyways.

whats the hell is that supposed to mean... making shady ass comments like that and not even knowing what your talking about

like thats really hurting my car lol.... not like my car was stuggling to make it up it!!! haha going up a hill in 5th gear at 80mph i'm @ around 4,000rpm... hardly straining at all.

which O2 sensor would this be? And where can I get it from/how much?
