My car seems to rev kind of high. At 75mph, I'm turning right about 3k rpm. This is on 225/50/15 tires in 5th gear. I never really paid attention until I put the clutch in and started hearing all kinds of "phantom" noises. I've got myself convinced that the clutch is slipping but I can't tell.
What do you guys think, is this about right?

Re: RPM's too high? (jpete)

That seems fine to me. With 75mph being about 120km/h, my car revs at the exact same rpm (3000). If 5th gear, I can multiply my rpm by 4 to get the speed

Keep in mind your tire size makes no difference as to the speed that you see on the speedo vs the tach, as that relationship will always be the same unless you get a new tranny.

Re: RPM's too high? (BC Dub)

It's good to know that it's about normal. I only included the tire size because I just wanted people to know that I didn't have giant 18 or 19 inch wheels on it.
Thanks
Jeff
