Re: Rubber Floor Mats (J_Westy)

I just ordered them from Europe three days ago. Should have them in a week or so. Too bad that they are not available in the US - the part number is invalid at my WA dealership. I will report when I get them. In the past I had Votex rubber matws in my Passat Wagon and Jetta. They were really good.

Re: Rubber Floor Mats (SilverWagon)

Looking forward to hearing how they work out.
I had heard there could be issues with the cup-holder in front of the shifter -- i.e. the European models might not have the cup-holder and therfore the mats may be "cut" to go where the cup-holder is?

There is no front console cupholder in my early 2001 EVC. Well, I installed one (using VW OEM parts) on the side of the front passenger seat. It will swing with the rotating seat and since it does not touch the floor, I do not expect clereance problems.

Re: Rubber Floor Mats (SilverWagon)

Talked to a Dealer in Windsor, ON. He said they received a memo saying VW is working on rubber mats for NA? Anyone hear the same?
I couldn't wait, so I ordered a set from http://www.mats4less.com
http://store.yahoo.com/floormats4less/allyeardim4p15.html
and http://store.yahoo.com/floormats4less/dimmincarmat.html
I'll post again to let you know how they fit?
I also ordered some diamond plate mat to cut out for the rear shelf: http://store.yahoo.com/floormats4less/tuffmatssmall.html

J Westy,
I do not have my mats in hand yet but I am sending you a separate e-mail with 2 pictures of the VW OEM Eurovan floor mats. A VW parts place in Canada made the picture for me and is shipping them to me now. They ARE available in Canada NOW.
Good luck.

Talked to the Dealer in Windsor again...
He says according to his system, there's one set in Canada. He also says it is being discontinued and the "new" A - version (701061501A 041) is supposed to be out around the first of the year? Anyway, he doesn't want to order the 1 set because he would be stuck with it if it doesn't fit well in my '02? I guess I'll just wait?

Re: Rubber Floor Mats (J_Westy)

Finally....just in time for Christmas...my EVC has OEM rubber floor mats.
They are very nice, two pieces, made in germany for Votex, they fit perfectly.
The only thing is that they do not clip on the existing carpet pegs, but they came with its own plastic attachment screws (which, for now, I have not installed).
Right side mat is fairly wide and covers part of the middle area. They are the same quality as the rubber mats I previously purchased from VW for my Passat and Jetta.

Re: Rubber Floor Mats (stevward)

Steve,
The part number is the "Teilenummer" at the beginning of the post. There are rear mats on the German website too -- see beginning of the post as well. There are no pictures however so I don't know what the difference is for the two different "hinten" mats? By the size, I would guess one is for the bench seat while the other is for the middle bucket seats? Hopefully, these will be availble in North America in January as the Canadian dealer has heard?
