Run-flats have come a long way in performance and are standard on many sports cars these days. However, you can't reverse the laws of physics. The stiff sidewall runflats are required to have translates into a rougher ride compared to the same normal tire. Also runflats won't help you if you get a slice or bent rim. With a typical max range of 50 miles when deflated, they aren't much help for me during my trips through the Southwest where I am frequently over 50 miles from a gas station much less a tire store. This happens even between major metro areas like I-15 between LA and Vegas.
