[Imperial88]

hey guys, have a 93 corrado with vr6, has about 100kmi on the engine...car ran excellent..today it started idling rough...car vibrates ...and is making some knocking type noise. There were no actions that i can think of that would have caused this. I very familiar with engines...but i am new to Volkswagen. I do not believe it is as serious as a low end bearing..rod knock..seems as if maybe i'm missing on a cylinder because i have noticed a large power decrease. my plan for tmr is to pull a couple spark plugs...and go from there. If anyone has any advice of there opinion i would greatly appreciate it.

Wet test your plug wires, cap&rotor (if equipped, early 93) or coilpack. Bottle: washer fluid/water mixture...Mist over ignition components in a darkened area (garage, nighttime, etc.) Watch for the dance of the blue spark. If a party is started, replace said wires, cap, rotor, fresh plugs, etc. This may not be your only issue, but it's a start.
