I have a problem with rust collecting on the hubs of my GTI. doesn't look like its forming there...just collecting from the rotors probably. What's the best way to get rid of it?

Are the hubs painted?... if not then paint them with caliper paint .

No they're not. I thought about paint but I'd rather that be the last resort. I'd rather clean it if it's possible.

Usually they are rusting not picking up rust flakes from somewhere and all you can do is wire wheel them but the rust will be back after a wash or 2.

Are you actually talking about the "hub" or the disk hat?
