could i make my c rwd... with unlimited funding? and mount the vr6 longitudinally? possibly a transaxle from a 924/944/968? If i paid someone enough money to do enough welding and such would it be possible?
trying to figure out whether to keep this car or not... I know everything's possible with enough money but maybe some mechanically keen people can chime in. thanks...

Re: RWD? (diegs)

It would be really hard to mount the engine longitudinally in that engine bay, there's not much room at all. After all, they had to invent a working narrow-angle engine just to fit a v6 in sideways.
A better bet would probably be to do a Syncro swap. That way you're getting AWD. And if you're hooked on RWD, I'm sure you could rig it somehow with a modified Syncro driveline. That approach would probably be MUCH easier than changing the engine mounting and using a foriegn (Porsche) driveline, since the Porsche's driveline's dimensions are going to be completely different from your Corrado.

I wouldn't waste my money on all wheel drive if you are going to do a big project. Porsche trans is way too big if you want to keep the stock firewall and floor. You could just use a domestic axle, driveshaft and trans. But same thing, gotta do some cuttin. And you are talking big bucks to do it right. I thinkn the 30valve V6s in the new VWs are longitudinal, but probably not gonna fit.
