yup rip em out. top pic is the relay for the system #111 and the bottom pic is a vacuum solenoid. the solenoid im not sure it youll get a code or not, but are you going to be running the C2/BFI chip?

you will get a code unless you put in a chip that ignores the SAI system
just rip em out, More weight down for better accelration!

Without it the fuel trims are disabled, not sure why though.

Thought you only snip the ECU on OBD2. He said it matters on OBD1 with the fuel trim. Removed mine on OBD1 and getting 25MPG. CEL comes on and off though.

Yes. Where can u get the plug for this? It's like a freeze plug when u do plug it.. U will get a cel but if it's obd1 it don't really matteR for that..

http://www.42draftdesigns.com (42DD) sells a billet alluminum piece that fits in plave of the solenoid in the head, or you can use a 3/4" freeze plug. i, and a few other ppl i know of, have used one of those expandable rubber freeze plugs with succes as well.

Yes as far as I can tell you need to leave the solenoid plugged in no matter what.

thanks, paul. this might be why i smell alittle rich...
oh and paul, can you confirm/deny wether you have to leave the 111 relay installed? isnt that to just power the air pump itself? i would assume since theres three wires going (power in, power out, and the 'pick' signal)
