I bought my 98 GTI VR6 at SC VW and have had all service done there. They haven't said a word about my mods (chip, exhaust, springs, shocks, etc.), but then again nothing has broken in the 70K miles I've driven it. Talk to Bob in the Service Dept. He's been very helpful to me.
An added bonus is that while servicing your car there, head across the street to Volks Cafe for some aftermarket goodness.

Volks Cafe has always been really nice to me, but the dealership has never helped me, they somehow get around my questions and I end up leaving worse than I came...I'm starting to think they don't know what a Scirocco is, either that or they really don't like costomers.
Volks Cafe knows what they're talking about 99.9% of the time and I'm sure they're mod friendly since they sell a lot of aftermarket stuff themselves.

I would say for factory dealer type service go to New Dimensions.
Re: santa cruz volkswagen... (waterpumper)

new dimensions is way over priced...if your in san fran or hell, anywhere besides san jose...go to tomas sport tuning, tim is a messiah.

Santa Cruz VW is fine until you need them to fix your car under warranty. When that happens they will find every excuse under the sun not to fix it...they suck! Not mod friendly at all...
Re: santa cruz volkswagen... (DohRado)

I helped an old GF buy a 95 golf there durring the summer. Under the conditions of sale, we put "fix brakes". The salesman wanted to put "check brakes" but we're like... no, we're not going to buy it unless you FIX THE BRAKES. cus they sucked. Rotors were warped and you couldn't get them to even come near to skidding any wheels no matter how hard you tried (yes, I tried). She took the car back there 3 times. First time they said it was the e-brake. nope. then we finally got them to replace the rotors, but they refused to put new pads on there. And it still doesn't really stop. It really needs to have the brakes bled, and they wouldn't do it. And new pads, c'mon those things probably cost the dealer like $12 cus they get them at cost I'm sure.
So, I hate them. Their parts department is a little overpriced too. I got a price for a part at another dealer for $6, the one in santa cruz charged me $9 for the same part. I'm just wait'n for that girl (x-gf now) to rear-end some fool on hwy 1 and roll up there with her receipts and a lawyer

On a happy note, I just got back from Volkscafe to pick up a K&N and everyone there is super cool http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
